Nicole Foundation
The Nicole Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in memory of Nicole Ahumuza Rubondo, a vibrant 16-year-old whose life was tragically cut short by a road accident in 2020. Nicole’s compassion, leadership, and promise inspired the creation of this foundation, dedicated to promoting road safety, especially for young people in Uganda.
Our mission is to empower the youth to become active voices in the campaign for road safety, advocate for stronger road safety policies, and raise awareness about safe road use practices. Through education, policy reform, community engagement, and remembrance initiatives, we strive to prevent further tragedies and create a safer future for all road users.
By commemorating Nicole’s legacy, we are driven to make impactful contributions toward reducing road accidents and safeguarding the lives of Uganda’s youth.
Background
The Nicole Foundation was founded in memory of Nicole Ahumuza Rubondo, a bright and compassionate 16-year-old who tragically lost her life in a road accident on 18th January 2020. Nicole’s sudden passing during her Senior 4 vacation in Kasese District left an immense void in the lives of her family, friends, and schoolmates at King’s College Budo. Her leadership qualities, kindness, and passion for helping others were evident throughout her life.
In response to this heartbreaking loss, the Nicole Foundation was established to advocate for road safety, particularly among the youth. The foundation aims to prevent similar tragedies by promoting responsible road use, empowering young voices, and influencing road safety policies. Through our work, we honor Nicole’s memory and strive to build a safer future for Uganda’s next generation.
Mission Statement
Nicole Foundation is committed to enhancing road safety initiatives by amplifying the voices of young children in commemoration of Nicole’s life.
